Public Works (PW): Planning for and Responding to a Terrorism/WMD Incident (MGT 317)
This course trains all first responders, especially Public Works personnel, in their responsibilities and roles to protect, restore and maintain critical infrastructure and public services as part of a community’s preparation and response to a weapon of mass destruction (WMD)/terrorism incident or other major disaster. Upon completion of the course, the participants will be able to successfully conduct vulnerability assessments of the jurisdiction’s critical infrastructure and facilities and effectively contribute to the management of a WMD/terrorism incident as a member of the jurisdiction’s unified command structure. The participants conclude the course with an activity designed to improve and enhance the jurisdiction’s emergency response planning as it relates to Public Works and other participating disciplines.

Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents Direct/Indirect Deliveries
Designed for state and local first responders. Training focuses on the suicide bombing threat, indications and warnings, legal considerations, and safe and effective implementation of response procedures. Prepares state and local first responders to perform as a part of their agency's suicide bombing prevention and response team. Instruction provided by professional instructors from the Prevention and Response to Suicide Bombings Incidents Course or graduates of that program.

There are still openings for the Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings (IRTB) and Preventing and Responding to Suicide Bombing Incidents (PRSBI) courses held at New Mexico Tech during the summer months. To find out more, go to: New Mexico Tech.
